White (creamy): White discharge is a part of normal functioning for vaginas. It has a thin creamy texture and in some cases, it can be a lot thicker. If this discharge is very thick, then it could signify a yeast infection and proper medical treatment is required.

Yellow: yellow discharge generally has a foul smell, and it is caused by vaginal infection. It can cause itching and irritation. It could be caused by STIs (sexually transmitted infections) and immediate medical attention is advised in this case.

Green: Green discharge is associated with a serious bacterial infection, gonorrhea. In some cases, this infection could be trichomoniasis. Immediate medical attention is needed in case of green vaginal discharge.

Brown and black: Brown blood means old blood, and black has stayed for an even longer time. It mainly appears at the start or end of the menstrual cycle. If this type of discharge color is common for an individual, it could mean hormonal imbalance within the body.

Grey: Grey discharge means bacterial vaginosis, and it smells fishy in most cases. It causes vaginal smell imbalance.

Pink: It is safe in most cases, as it is caused when a small amount of blood mixes with blood from a ruptured vein. However, if pink discharge color persists, you must seek medical attention.

Red: Red discharge is menses (menstrual) blood color, which is normal. If the flow is very heavy, there could be various types of problems like physical damage, infection or hormonal imbalance.
